Product Description
The MQ-25 Stingray is a planned aerial refueling drone that resulted from the Carrier-Based Aerial-Refueling System (CBARS) program, which was previously known as the Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS) program. Selected in August 2018 by the US Navy, it was the winner of a bidding war between General Atomics, Northrop, and Lockheed Martin. It is designed to augment the refueling capabilities of a carrier strike group, reducing or eliminating the need for a separate "buddy tanker" Super Hornet.
This 1:200 scale model...is not exactly 1:200 scale. Only the engineers at Boeing know the true size of the latest version of this aircraft. As it is still in the development phase, details on the drone continue to change. The scale is derived from source material to include demonstration videos by Boeing, photos of the actual prototype, and comparisons to the size of a Super Hornet. As source material is relatively scare compared to a completed aircraft, some artistic license has been applied some details. Nonetheless this version is the latest appearance as of early 2019. Enjoy!
