Product Description
Anearly version which was in the Phillipines at the start of the war. The B-17E was already in production and supplanted the D model fairly quickly. Few is any D models fought in the ABDA camapign and all were in second line use by March of 1942. The SWOOSE was a famous B-17 put together from the front of a damaged B-17E and the back of a B-17D, which was used as a VIP transport by the USAAF Commander in the SW Pacific Area.
