Product Description
The 1935 Diamond T "Doodlebug" fuel tanker is the first model in the "World of Tomorrow" series by Low Bridge Studios. This charming, streamlined truck was the work of the famous industrial designer Norman Bel Geddes (who went on to design the world-famous "Futurama" exhibit at the 1939 New York World's Fair). The design was well ahead of its time, was very aerodynamic, and had a height of only six feet (quite small for a truck then or since). It is not known how long they were in service, but this model should fit in quite nicely in any "transition era" model railroad (c. 1935-1960), or in any 1:160 diorama.
Assembly is a simple matter of gluing the wheels to the chassis, but the wheels are quite small, so a magnification device is recommended.
