There are some chainmail models printable in plastics available from other designers. This is an European 8 in 1 chainmail sample embedded into a support structure to make it printable in semi-precious and precious metal.
The support bares are to be removed by hand (using an appropriate tool) as a post-printing DIY step. Be warned: This is not as easy as you may think.
It is no use ordering the model in plastics, because this could be printed without the bars. However, it could be useful for separating exercises before trying metal. My exercise was cutting a smaller similar model featuring 60 rings, i.e. 120 connections to be cut. It is also not worth ordering plated or polished versions of it, because removing the bares will damage the surface finish applied.
What is it good for? Well, you may order in raw silver which is an antibacterial material and use it to clean pots and iron pans in your kitchen. Think that is the most expensive cleaning pad ever. But be warned: Do not give it to your wife as a birthday present! - No!!
