Ex-Festiniog Railway Oakeley Quarry Four Plank Wagon in 7mm Scale
The Festiniog Railway had a wide range of open wagons of many slightly different types. This is model is of an early Festiniog wagon that was later demoted to be used internally by the Oakeley Quarry Co. An example of this type of wagon can be found at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Tywyn.
Designed to be used with Ø10.5 wheels on 20mm long axles with the pin points filed off. I use '6 Spoke Curved' wheels with Ø1.5mm × 20mm axles provided by KB Scale.
Bass 'top hat' bearings can be used by drilling the axle holes out and filing back the outside of the printed axle boxes to suit.
This model was designed for the correct 14mm gauge. It can also be used on 16.5mm gauge, but may require washers or new bearings to reduce the axle side movement.
