7/8" Scale Dinorwic Slate Wagon Bobbins - Style B

One set of Dinorwic Quarry slate wagon bobbins in 7/8" scale (1:13.7), also known as SE or 7/8n2 scale.

These are intended for use with 1/8" thick (high) wooden side and end rails and have been dimensioned for an actual thickness of 3.3 mm.

Each bobbin has 2 mm diameter spigots top and bottom. The bottom-most spigots are 2 mm long, intermediate spigots passing through a single piece of wood are 3 mm long, giving a small clearance when cut in the middle, and spigots passing through two pieces of wood are 6 mm long, so that they can be cut 1 - 1.5 mm from one end to allow the long spigot to also locate the two pieces of wood together.

Also included are all bobbin bolt tops (nuts for the end rail bolts and square heads for the inner side rail bolts) as well as bolt heads for the frame cross timbers and nuts for the bottoms of the corner bolts.

A slightly different pattern of bobbin is also available, with the same main dimensions. Both patterns were often found on the same wagon.
