The Gom Jabbar, also known as "the high handed enemy", was a meta-cyanide poisoned needle that sat upon a thimble, and could thus be attached to a person's fingertip.

 

This example is used by the Bene Gesserit during their assay of individual humanity.  How one reacted to having a gom jabbar at one’s throat would help determine whether a subject’s awareness was stronger than their instincts. If their awareness of the gom jabbar's presence was strong enough, it would override their instincts to withdraw from the test, which usually involved great physical pain.

 

This gom jabbar DOES NOT INCLUDE meta-cyanide.  (That costs extra.)  So, while you can’t use it out of the box to test someone’s humanity, you can use it for many other things!

 

Possible uses include:

    • toothpick
    • pushing the little reset button on the back of a router
    • popping a child’s balloon 
    • piercing a can of alcohol before drinking it fast; colloquially known as “chugging”
    • tapping your finger on a wooden desk menacingly 
    • retrieving cheese cubes from an hors d'oeuvres tray at a party
    • poking the underside of 60’s and 70’s era Italian cars for signs of rot
    
And that’s just off the top of my heads. So you see, this is a very practical item to have as well as being a nice souvenir.
