Named after an 18th century American Indian chief who nickname was "the Crane," the Tarhe was designed to lift very large loads. Its "backbone" configuration allowed for close-fitting or suspended cargo (including downed aircraft and light tanks) and provided quick, safe, and efficient turnaround. About 100 were built, many of which served successfully in Vietnam. The model comes with an optional cargo pod.
