This bracket replaces the stock I/O shield on an RTX A2000 and holds a 92mm fan. It can be used to supplement the stock fan, or remove the stock fan for more airflow and power budget. Simple removal and installation, utilizes the stock hardware, fitment is excellent.
Expected temp reduction depends on ambient, silicon lottery, and fan used. Below are typical reductions with a low power airflow optimized fan (Sanyo 9GA0912P4J03), thermal pads replaced (Thermalright 1.5mm), stock fan removed, and shunt mod performed. Temp drops will be more significant in high ambient, and with less optimal external air circulation. Temperature drops shown are with a box fan directly next to the rig, improvement will be even more substantial in suboptimal airflow situations.
Sanyo 9GA0912P4J03 (Low power fan for efficency)
8-12°C Voltage Regulator Temp Reduction (Measured at the back of the PCB)
6-10°C Memory Temp Reduction
4-8°C GPU Core Temp Reduction
Sanyo 9GV0912P1H03 (Extremely powerful fan to show performance at the limit)
10-12°C Memory Temp Reduction
12-18°C GPU Core Temp Reduction
T6 and T7 screwdriver required for basic installation, T5 required to remove internal fan. Requires M5x10 fan mount screws to attach fan. These are the screws that commonly come with fans and computer cases, but can be purchased online easily. 4500-6000 RPM high-quality fan recommended, and not included.
This is available in 3 different 'sizes'.
Large - Includes mounting tabs on both top and bottom (Pictured)
Medium - Removes lower locating tabs, retains top clip for securing
Small - Fan duct ONLY, does not have a way to secure the GPU, will be floating off the PCIe slot
For those looking for the proper shunt value, 25mohm worked well for me. This shunt resistor, when soldered on top of the existing 5mohm resistor will modify the cards stock power limit from 70W to 82W and unlock ~49MH hash rate in ETH on most cards. Note: This is pushing the card beyond design specs, WILL void warranty, WILL make more heat, and pushes the slot beyond its 75W power rating. Ensure your risers are powered approproately. Any 2512 size shunt will work, below is a link to a prefered model.
