Volk's Car 5 (The Winter Car) 4mm (009)

A model of Volk's Car 5, the Winter Car. Built in 1930 the enclosed saloon car was built with steel panels. Unfortunately wartime storage meant that the car suffered badly with corrosion and was scrapped in 1946. The two piece kit is designed to fit on a KATO 11-103 4w chassis, which would make it 2ft gauge rather than 2ft 9in gauge - although there is nothing to stop the buyer building a scale chassis to run on 12mm gauge.

If ordering in white flexible the kit will have a slight granular feel. I give it a gentle rub over with wet and dry before two coats of Halfords spray filler primer. Then another ub down before two coats of undercoat, then light rub down before top coats.
