USS Robert H. Smith (DD-735/DM-23) is the lead ship of her destroyer minelayer class - originally designed as a Allen H. Sumner class destroyer. Robert H. Smith survived the war and was transferred to the reserve fleet in 1947, where it continued in service until 1971.
