Product Description
Made from 1956 to about 1962. This was a popular sweeper in an era when street sweeping grew rapidly. Wayne sweepers seemed to outsell Elgin in many parts of the country. Wayne claimed its advantages included putting the gutter broom in front of the wheels to redue tire damage, and a 14ft turning radius instead of a 15ft. A few years later Elgin took back the initiative when it introduced the Pelican, a sweeper that dump its load into a dump truck. Wayne was acquired by FMC c1970, merged with Johnston c1980, was called Allianz c2005, and is now called Global.
The 3D print has the newer, less rounded type of cab. I made this for my own use. So, it has some quirks that work for me, and might not work for others. The print is designed for some cutting and assembly. I used a Dremel tool to cut the top from the bottom, and then to cut loose the axle and front wheels, and the small lights. I added seats and steering wheels from my parts boxes, and dirt deflectors and details from sheet plastic.
