Vintage Johnson Outboard and Tank
1:12 scale 1" to the Foot scale.
White, Ready to Paint. Slightly grainy surface up close.
Looks good at normal model viewing distance. Comes in all white for painting.
Motor is 90.93 mm tall (3.580")
Mounting bracket fits sloped Transom up to 4mm (0.15748") wide.
I designed this to look like a vintage Johnson 1955 or 1956 outboard. It comes with a Johnson Mile Master Gas Tank. You can paint a green 1955 version or red 1956 version. See photos. It has a mounting bracket that fits a sloped Transom. No parts on the motor move. For Static models. It has supports that need to be cut to separate the motor and tank.
This is a link to the free Johnson Outboard Decal image. When you click on the link you will see the Decal. Click on the download arrow to download the jpg. This is the high quality print file you will need for the correct size logos to fit the motor and gas tank. Follow the instructions printed on the Decal. Trim your decal paper to 4x6 and print at 100% (not scale to fit). Designed for White decal paper. Decals do not come in the box so you need to print your own at home.

Paint guide. I suggest you print and varnish the decals first before painting the motor and gas tank. You will need to match the decal background colors to match the motor paints. I use Tamiya spray paint Red TS85 and Green TS60 on the motors. I spray the gas tank black part with Tamiya Matt Black TS6. The white parts I paint by brush with Vallejo Acrylic paint 70.951. Handle and control knobs Black with 70.950. If you want to brush paint instead of spray the motors, Vallejo Flat Red 70.957. Green mix Silver 70.997 and a drop of Flat green 70.968. Mix to match the decal green. White Processed Versatile Plastic takes Acrylic paint well. I do not prime before hand because the surface is slightly porous and grainy. I use Vallejo brand paints that have good coverage, opaque and cover easily over other colors. I use Tamiya spray paints for plastics without priming too.
