Product Description
The USS Kentucky was to be the sixth Iowa class battleship, but it was never completed, being just an empty hull at the end of World War II. Various conversion proposals were made, from completing her to the original design to conversion in an anti-aircraft or nuclear missile battleship. The variant shown here is the anti-aircraft (BBAA) conversion, the armament modified to 12 8in (203mm) guns as in the Des Moines class cruisers, 32 5in (127mm) dual-purpose guns, and 12 76mm anti-aircraft guns.
Three anti-aircraft variants were proposed, Schemes F, G and H. A letter indicating the variant of the design will be noted aside the name to differentiate the various different proposals.
The hull is the same for all the variants.
The outer propellers are the four-bladed ones, inner and outer can only fit one way due to the placement of alignment pins.
