Product Description
This model represents a horse-drawn tram coach as commonly used in the Victorian and Edwardian Era. While freelance and modelled for standard gauge, it is heavily based on the Australian Ballarat Tram and is designed with a separate roof to aid detailing, painting and fitting a crew. It originated as a jumbo-ised N Gauge model, suitably altered to 00 operative tolerances and to fit proprietary parts, enabling simple construction.
An unpowered model, it complements the motorised steam tram separately available.
IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.
(Note: various materials are provided, however, WSF and BSF will require more preparation for smooth painting that FUD and FED.)
The following additional parts need to be sourced separately to complete (web links given as examples only):
Hornby wagon wheels R8098 http://www.hattons.co.uk/7287/Hornby_R8098_Metal_spoked_wheels_on_axles_10_axles_/StockDetail.aspx
Screw-fit coupling (best to just glue/pin – mounting point included in the buffer with a pre-formed slot in the skirting): Hornby Spares - Coupling Unit and Screws - A1X Terrier - Pack of 1
