Product Description
The Victorian Railways Rail Tractors are small, shunting units employed for the movement of wagons in country stations and private sidings. These were employed in locations where it was deemed uneconomical for a locomotive to be dedicated for shunting and were driven by suitably qualified station staff.
The first rail tractor entered service in 1932 and while these have varied in design and power output over time, they have typically been built on I-wagon underframes and employed engines from agricultrual tractors.
This product has been designed to fit a Tsugawa Yokou TU TMC -100 mechanism which measures only 32.8 mm in length. Guide holes have also provided for the installation of 0.4 mm brass wire for the front and rear guard-rails.
