Once you have collected all the parts and tested the TFT you'll want to assemble the screen as follows:
- Primer all parts wiith plastic primer, EG Tamiya TAM87044.
- Paint with your base base, EG Tamiya TS62.
- (optional) Mask supports and paint rear of structure a period appropriate color such as Tamiya TS60.
- (optional) Paint front cover with Matte Black.
- (optional) Use acrylic/enamel paint and apply with paintbrushes to add detail like brush strokes and weathering/blackwash.
- Place screen inside shell, remove factory screen protector. Ensure that ribbon cable runs down the channel and is not folded behind the screen.
- Epoxy/glue the front cover in place. The screen will not be removable after this so ensure that it works first!
- Plug a microusb into a power brick, connect the HDMI cable, and kick back to watch some movies.
Some notes about incorporating this into your model:
- Take care to keep plaster, glue, and other modelling material out of the HDMI and USB ports
- The default brightness was plenty bright for me, but if you need it brighter you can solder the "+25mA" jumper.
