Product Description
A set of four 1/700 scale models of the Grand Slam bomb, used to attack harderened targets during WW2, and also appearing in the film 633 Squadron. Ideal for dioramas when combined with my 1/700 Lancaster bomber.

The Grand Slam bomb weighing ten tons was the largest bomb to be dropped during WW2. It was solely used by 617 Squadron flying specially modified Lancaster bombers, successfully destroying the Bielfeld Viaduct, as well as submarine pens along the Altantic coast. Grand Slam bombs were dropped from high altitude and detonated once they had penetrated deep into the ground causing an earthquake effect to destroy the target.
