Product Description
The A-Stack container was developed by the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad in 1982. They were an attempt to containerize the Fuel Foiler spine cars, as well as increase container efficiency by carrying bulk materials. The ambitious design was ultimately the container's demise. The twistlock castings, normally at 40 foot centers on regular containers, were not spaced the same on the A-Stack. This meant the container needed special rail and road equipment to carry it. The Fuel Foiler was modified with low-slung transverse brackets to hold the corner posts of the container. A semi trailer was designed using the same features. That trailer is represented here with this model.

The trailer can carry both the aluminum and fiberglass A-Stack containers. It features 6-spoke wheels, leaf spring suspension, and interchangeable landing gear details.

Assembly:
Separate all parts from the sprues.
Clean up the joints. Some light sanding may be required to fit the landing gear onto the chassis.
Select your landing gear to install, either retracted for road or rail movement, or extended for standalone use without a tractor.
Glue landing gear on. Make sure the side bracing faces the front of the chassis.
Paint and decal the model
