The 5.7x28mm is Belgium-origins small arms cartridge.
Designed in 1980s, it was specifically designed cartridge for defensive weapon that for command and control unit, to defend from enemy attack effectively, as typical pistol/ submachine gun cartridges were deemed insufficient penetration power to defeat enemy with body armor, especially 9x19mm Parabellum.
This model's outer parts dimension were accordance with C.I.P. Decisions, Texts and Tables (TDCC).
