A Candle in the Dark ✦ Lantern Earrings with Moth
Original design © Olena Shmahalo /
Nature in Theory
The title is a nod to Carl Sagan's 1995 book,
The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. And the idiom: "It's better to light a single candle than curse the darkness". This unique design is not available anywhere else.
These lantern pendants can be worn as earrings, on a necklace, or even as a brooch (using a large safety / kilt pin).
Size: approx. 4 cm tall & 2 cm wide (each)
HOOKS NOT INCLUDED:- Cast brass is not body jewelry quality. Test-printed hooks had micro-cracks; wearing directly in pierced skin would lead to infection or injury.
- Buying options: Gold is hypoallergenic and should match the color.
- DIY: To make ear wires for wearing through eyelet plugs (as pictured): Shapeways' brass contains 15% Zinc, 5% Tin, and 80% Copper — Jeweler's Red Brass CDA #230 is a good color match. 20g (.8 mm) thickness.
