Product Description
This is a plate designed to hold a large plano-convex lens required for fiber launching.
Combine modular components to produce a beam of light that does the job of a high-speed fiber cable... without the environmental consequences.
LENSES NOT INCLUDED. But they are listed and linked in the datasheet!
It took a long time, but our finished prototypes are here! The whole team at Hansen Photonics Incorporated is proud to present a modular DIY lens assembly toolkit. Each plate performs a different operation (holding a specific lens or housing) and when assembled in the correct order, can built the backbone of a long-range optical communications device!
We tested this in partnership with the Environmental Science Center at Seahurst beach in Burien, WA. Check out the article they wrote about it in the B-Town Blog!
The HPI Modular Lens Assembly allows users to manually construct and calibrate their own long-range lens assemblies from recyclable components. Assemblies may be used to stream gigabit-speed signals over long distances.
