Product Description
This is the body of my full size 5-string electric violin. The fingerboard is kept as a separate file in case you prefer to stick on a real ebony fingerboard. And because of bounding box constraints, the chin rest unit housing the jack outlet is also a separate file. The slot for the bridge is designed to hold an innovative dual pickup titanium bridge that I am still testing. You will also need some guitar machine heads. These are held in place by bushes and the side wall projecting from the underside to counteract torque. Fixing screws will not be needed, and the screw tab will need to be amputated from the machines with pliers. The curvature of the tuner mounts is intended to keep the 157 degree bridge angle across all five strings. The body design uses the traditional curvature of the fingerboard and the cross section at the thumb stop (heel). A 0.6 mm scoop is already modelled into the fingerboard at the fifth for maximum playing comfort. For best results, professional plastic (HP-MJF) is recommended.
