Product Description
One set of Dinorwic Quarry double-flanged wagon wheels in 7/8" scale (1:13.7), also known as SE or 7/8n2 scale.
These are near-scale wheels intended for dioramas. They are probably not suited for ordinary running on a garden railway, and of course they cannot be used with conventional turnouts.
Each wheel has a nominal 3 mm diameter bore for an axle, which in practice is a very tight fit on 3 mm round bar. They will need to be drilled to be used with 1/8" round bar.
These are offered in both white and black. The intention with the black finish is that it would not be so noticeable if paint chips off the tread or flanges with use, but be aware that the black is only a surface coating and that removing the connecting sprues will leave white circles on the hubs.
Dimensions:
Overall diameter: 23.5 mm
Overall thickness at hub: 6.5 mm
Overall thickness at rim: 6.1 mm
Tread diameter: 21.1 mm
Tread width between flanges: 4.2 mm
Flange depth: 1.2 mm
Flange thickness: 0.95 mm
Note that these wheels need to be spaced further apart than single-flanged wheelsets, and the centres of the treads should be more or less in line with the rail centres.
