The Winchester Model 1912 (M12) is a pump-action shotgun with an internal hammer, intialy chambered in 20 Gauge, 12 and 16 Gauge came out in 1913, and a 28 gauge in 1934. Direct successor of Winchester M1897, the M12 was used during WWI, WWII, Korean War and early stage of the vietnam war, (M12 production end in 1964, troops use the M12 until the inventory stock get consumed). The miltary version was slightly different of the civilian one, with a shorter barrel, perforated stell heat shield, and a M1917 bayonet adapter.
As the M1897, the M12 have no trigger disconnector, this allowed a high rate of fire by keep pressing the trigger and loading a shell by pump action as fast as the gunner pump (full auto shotgun presages), which made it very effective at close range.
Successor of m1897 trench gun, the m12 was used during WWII and many year later
