Product Description
This is an N scale kit for an Atlas EMD SD50/SD60/SD60M dummy chassis. The kit includes one chassis, one pair of trucks and a pair of bolster pins.
The chassis has been designed so an Atlas EMD SD50/SD60/SD60M shell fits onto it with out modification using the existing mounting points. The original Atlas SD50/SD60/SD60M fuel tank will also clip onto the chassis.
The trucks have been designed for 3 Fox Valley 36" metal wheel sets (FVM3611) each which are not included. Microtrains 36" plastic wheelsets will also fit.
The trucks have the necessary groves and fixing points to mount axel wipers to the wheels if required for power pickup. If you wish to uses the original Atlas SD50/SD60/SD60M lighting board then an additional ‘Light Board Mount’ is available that clips to the dummy chassis holding the board in place.
Please note: The ‘Light Board Mount’ is a separate kit and is printed in a different material. The 'Light Board Mount' can be found here.
These parts have been designed for FUD & FXD materials so they will require cleaning before painting. I recommend washing with warm soapy water then soaking in 'Goo Gone' or a similar non-corrosive product for 24 hours. Then rinsing off with warm water and allowing to dry.
Coupler fixings are not required as the Atlas SD50/SD60/SD60M has shell mounted couplers.
