Cheddleton/Elton generic Signal box (O)
Instructions
The Wooden part of the box sits on top of the brick section. Try and get it square as we have not
incorporated any locating points.
The stairs\porch will be placed up to the body of the building. The door can be positioned as you
wish. (Note –this is not possible on the external porch door on the Cheddleton model – only the
internal door, due to how it is moulded) With the extra windows, you have the options to model as
open or closed. Any open windows should have a fine metal bar over them mid way up to prevent
“falling” out the open window. An old paper clip or fuse wire should suffice.
Detail the interior as you see fit with frame, stove and instrument block shelf of your
choice/construction.
Slot in the support beam(s) and slide in the false roof.
Place the main roof over the top and slide in the chimney. Adjust to suit, but the top should be
below the roof ridge line.
You may wish to use a small bit of tin foil to replicate the lead flashing capping the tiles on the
Cheddleton/Elton porch roof – see photos on Google for reference.
