The HOCT, developed for Balfour Beatty Rail, is based on two Nurock NUVM7 mobile concrete batching plants, the company’s seven-cubic-metre truck-mounted unit.
The Nurock unit carries all the ingredients unmixed in separate compartments. It then proportions these according to the mix design and mixes the quantity required in a continuous mixer. The mixer can be stopped and started as needed via a handheld remote control. With no waste or loss of quality in transit, the whole process is computer monitored for quality and accountability.
This model is designed to be used with a KFA container flat as refurbished for Network Rail with black body and yellow GPS bogies, such as the soon to be available models from Revoulution Trains (orders closing early Q4 2018).
Alternatively they can be made using the KFA shapeway prints from
https://www.shapeways.com/shops/mhmodels
The print allows both the original and current versions by removing the end ledges where the genegenerators now sit. They originally sat at the side.
There is a nickel silver etch and transfers for this model for the railings etc. and if you purchase the model these are included in the price. The value of the etch on its own is £7. Please message me when you purchase with a postage address and your Shapeways name so I can verify the order..
