Product Description
This is a Ridgeway Stack (often referred to as a 'Bear Trap' stack) that is modeled after the ones worn by the Denver & Rio Grande Western C-19s while on lease to the Colorado & Southern railroad. High resolution images of 343, 345, and 346 wearing these stacks in 1935-1937 don't exist, so the detail is more conservative. This model is based on drawings and many reference photos. The Colorado Railroad Museum operates 346 with a reproduction Ridgeway stack and looks straight out of the late 1930's!
The stack base is dimensioned off the Bachmann shotgun stack so it should be a perfect fit, but may require some sanding. The outer diameter of (separate) down piping should be 9.5-10mm, the inner diameter to mate with the downward cone is 8mm for a solid connection. I will likely come up with a printed version that fits perfectly, and will have to prototype with my FDM printer once it is working again.
I suggest cutting a screen to fit as well, I will make a template to download and print. It should be two pieces, one for the top horizontal section, and the more complex shape for the leading angle.
Feel free to ask me any questions, and have a great day!
