Pair of rear suspension bushings for Moulton Series 1 and 2 F-frame bicycles.
Before ordering, please check the outer diameter of your rear pivot sleeve:
I've been using these bushings on my own Series 2 and have done several thousand miles without any problems, including a 5-day loaded tour around the West coast of Scotland where there were plenty of rough roads to test the suspension. That's the full extent of the testing they have had!
Here is a guide on how to service the rear suspension, including how to fit the suspension bushes. (Adam's shop is not connected with this link.)
An alternative source of pivot bolts/sleeves and bushings is Moulton Preservation, which is a great source of parts and advice/expertise for old (/vintage!) Moulton bicycles, so you might want to get in touch with them if you haven't already. Please support them when you can, perhaps by donating spare parts, etc. (Adam's shop is not connected with Moulton Preservation.)
However, sometimes replacement bushings are needed without needing a new pivot bolt/sleeve assembly (e.g. if you're repainting the frame) and they can be hard to find. So here they are!
Before ordering, please check the outer diameter of your rear pivot sleeve:
- These bushings are sized to fit a metric suspension pivot bolt/sleeve (sleeve outer diameter 12.0 mm).
- A different size of bushing is needed to fit the original rear suspension pivot bolt/sleeve. I haven't got round to measuring up the dimensions for an original pivot bolt/sleeve size, but if you need this then drop me a line and I'll get onto it.
