Product Description
Hornby (and Lima) Class 20 diesel locomotives are fairly basic models, albeit with a fairly decent motor. Whilst they have acceptable levels of detail on the outside, they have no partition wall between the cab and engine section.
As a result, DCC decoders, wires, motor assembly etc. can often be seen when viewing the model or taking photos at eye level. To address this, we’ve produced this simple model designed to fit in the space between the cab and engine sections of the body. It can be held in place with a dab of superglue.
The wall insert is loosely based on photos of the Class 20 cab interior, with panels, junction boxes and AWS sunflower. Natural versatle plastic is the most cost effective option, but may not result in a smooth finish; other options (more expensive, but smoother) are available.
We recommend that the item is painted grey and the details picked out in black/white (or to taste). For most models, the fit will be snug, but if it's too tight, a light sanding prior to painting is recommended. Example fitting at 29:12 on the YouTube video below.
