Product Description
Phystyulons

144th scale (10 or 12mm)

The Tarovazik is one more expression of the Phystyulon’s light-rocket-vehicle paradigm. The Tarovazik is the most modern vehicle in the Phystyulon Army, being introduced in 2342. It is designed both to act as a missile support vehicle and a fast raider for slashing attacks, especially across bodies of water.

The low-grav drive is powered by an energy core larger than the Pazzukasst’s, which gives the vehicle incredible speed. It is also able to power shields as strong as the larger MBT.

The Tarovazik’s main weapons are the two rocket pods mounted on the turret, Each contains 36 semi-guided warheads, fired in triplicate for effect. The standard rockets used have a 6km range and a combined output power rated at Tier 19, but shorter-range, heavier warheads are not unknown, but not common.

Nestled between the two launchers are a trio of mini laser pods. These weapons are little more than support-weapon-sized lazers, and fire in triplicate for effect. They are in theory omnidirectional to provide point-defence – though their ability to intercept missiles coming in low from the rear or flank of the direction the turret is pointing is limited.

The oddest and most controversial feature of the Tarovazik is the two heavy lazer cannons. A product of the massive power core’s excess energy generation, the weapons in tandem can produce a staggering Tier 21-rated blast – as much as the Pazzukasst’s main gun, albeit with only half the range. The weapons were too big and generated far too much excess heat to mount inside the hull, and so were positioned outside, almost like landing struts. (Indeed they had to be further reinforced to take the weight of the vehicle when grounded). While the indisputably give the Tarovazik a very powerful and surprising punch, the lazer’s position is of questionable virtue in most land engagements. A Tarovazik taking any sort of hull down position will completely block the lazers from use. It has been argued that the weight and power could have been spent on a larger payload, or better defences. However, when used over water features, where the Tarovazik can make full use of its speed, the weapons come very much into their own

Finally, the vehicle also has two pairs of towing tractor beam arrays, one at the front and one at the rear. In concert with the lazer cannons, they enable the Tarovazik to traverse wooded terrain like the Pazzukasst. However, as the big guns are not as flexible as the MBT’s pylons, the rate is perforce slower for the Tarovazik.
