Convair R3Y-2 "Tradewind" 1/285 (Resting on water)

The only model of the Convair R3Y Tradewind in 6 mm scale. This was the only turboprop flying boat to enter service with the U.S. Navy, and it set several records. Originally designed for ASW, it was redesigned as a transport able to carry over a hundred troops. Six of the -2 model were built and replaced the giant Martin JRM Mars flying boat.

This model represents the airplaneresting on water with the "nose" open.
