Product Description
This kind of slab rack has seen use over a number of steel facilities. The car is modeled after the APEX cars that are used in the Mon Valley by the Union RailRoad. The car is modeled after drawings by Brandon Wehe.
The carbody is designed to fit BLMA trucks and Micro-Trains 1015 couplers (not included). In addition the modeler will need 0,030"x0,030" styrene strips (I used 0,040"x0,040 and it looks a bit heavy in the photo) for the vertical support rods on the decks.
There is room to add weight under the car deck. I used a piece of 4x15 mm brass that I glued in place.
