Greeblie is a term coined by ILM when designing ships for Star Wars, referring to the little details they added to the ships to add visual interest. The Universal Greeblie was a specific part from a model kit of a WW II railway gun. The part was so well used in various designs, they started referring to it as the universal greeblie.
