Product Description
This is a flange I made to put CS mount lenses onto old surplus image intensifiers, which are still abundant and cheap in 'new old stock' form.
When modeling this I used a P8079HP unit, which is considered Gen I passive night vision.
With this flange, you can attach a cheap (usually <10$ on amazon or ebay) security camera lens to it. This is a common combination for DIY night vision.
I'm not a huge fan of the CS mount lenses myself, although they are popular. They don't use the entire output window area (due to vignetting because they are very small). You'll want about 10x magnification on the rear output.
The dome magnifiers, which are 4x leave you with a fairly small image.
Aside from the cost, the other advantage is that the CS mount lenses are very very fast, they tend to have low f ratios (let in a lot of light). So it's a trade off.
This will also probably work for C-mount lenses, although it will likely not focus to infinity.
