In 1978 two C.F.A. affiliated Somali breed clubs submitted proposals requesting the Board to advance the Somali to full Championship status. My husband and I were members of The Somali Breeders Club and our study, GENESIS - ORIGINS OF THE SOMALI IN NORTH AMERICA, had formed the compelling basis for both proposals. In 1979 the first two CFA Grand Champions made history,
Foxtail's Rio Grande and Nephrani's Kubla Khan.
