Southern Pacific style locomotive cab

This cab was patterend after the MDC "Harriman" cab and intended to replace the cab on a Mantua 4-4-2 so that it would better match my MDC locomotives.  I am sure it could be modified to fit a variety of commercial steam locomotives.  Dimesions (without roof) are 27mm long by 35mm wide, and boiler opening is 24mm wide and 19mm tall. 

I added rivet detail to match the MDC cab, and the rivets are oversize (as they are on the MDC cab) so that they will print cleanly.  If you want a more fine-scale appearance, I suggest printing in detail plastic, sanding the sides and ends smooth, and then applying rivet decals from Archer or Micro Mark.  This will print in the versatile or the PA12 plastics.  Those are stronger, tougher and cheaper, but the finish is not as smooth.  They can be sanded to be smoother, but you still may want to smear on some kind of filler before sanding.
