Product Description
This is a mount for a timing strut to meet MSA regulations (in the UK). It requires a towing eye (I use the Elise Shop folding towing eye http://www.elise-shop.com/aluminium-folding-front-towing-eye-elise-exige-340r-2eleven-europa-vx220-p-502347.html) and a flat 51mm x 254mm plate (I use 0.5mm carbon fire sheet which you can buy on ebay and cut to size). Weighs almost nothing, but perfectly rigid. This design allows for using a towing eye and strut simultaneously using the towing eye fixing behind the front grill. Designed for an S2 Elise, should fit all models with a front towing eye. Assembles by screwing the towing eye through the bracket until tight.
I have designed it with three holes for fixings (height should be adjusted to your suspension - though I've never seen this measured in scruitineering), but I actually find double sided tape more than capable of keeping the carbon fibre blade attached.
I have been using at events this season, in all conditions, hot and wet, seems to work very well - I give no guarantees about the strength or durability, you are free to use at your own risk!
