Entry for the SMK Competition:
Drawing inspiration from the Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann painting - An Egyptian Fellah Woman with her Baby, this is as close to exact copy of the painted earring. By using the same dimensions and angles visible in Baumann's painting, I wanted to craft what would've been available to create at that time period.
The hinge to allow for swaying of the pendant is simple, and the components are what could've been handcrafted at the time period.
Material selections are bronze, and gold - two metals that would've been used for jewelry by Egyptian elite at the time (guessing they are elite because they have fruit, very tailored clothing and are in a laid back posture).
