Product Description
This S scale part is is the tank for a Prince Edward Island Railway 25,000 gallon enclosed water tower.
The prototype tank was 12'0" tall, 22'3" diameter at the base, and 21'2" diameter at the top. The 140 staves were 6" wide at the bottom. The tank had unusual barrel- style flat hoops, 5", 4", and 3" wide.
These tanks were built at Alberton, West Devon, Summerside, Hunter River, Mount Stewart, Morell, Harmony Jct., and Georgetown, PEI.
All other major parts will be brought out for these tanks, but we are starting with the most difficult part to build. These would be a very tough scratchbuilding project due to the tapered tank and staves.
It is likely these tanks will be useful to modellers building other railways' water towers.
