Toyota Avensis T25 fuel tank latch

This is the latch that holds the fuel tank door closed on a Toyota Avensis T25. The latch moves by an electric motor but the latch tends to freeze in cold weather. For the purpose of pulling the latch manually in case the electric motor breaks or the latch is stuck, Toyota has made a string that can be pulled from the trunk. This string is attached to the side of the original latch so that it usually breaks the frozen latch rather than pulls it open. Toyota does not sell the original latch separately but only with the electric motor which makes it pretty expensive, considering the customer only need this small latch. This is an enhanced design of the latch where the opening string will be installed around the latch rather than on a hook on the side as it is on the original, which makes this design actually work when the owner pulls the string. If You want You can finish the install by placing a 6x2mm o-ring around the latch like there is on the original one as well.
