Product Description
The Winchester Model 1897 is a pump action shotgun, with an external hammer. It could be loaded with 12 and 16 gauge shell.
During WWI, this shotgun was used to clear quickly ennemy trench, "Trench sweeper" because the M1897 have no trigger disconnector, this allowed a high rate of fire by keep pressing the trigger and loading a shell by pump action as fast as the gunner pump (full auto shotgun presages), which made it very effective at close range.
The military version of the M1897 have a shorter barrel, a perforated stell heat shield, and a M1917 bayonet adapter.
