Small NACA Duct

NACA ducts are designed to pull air into a body while minimizing parasitic drag. Airflow disturbance behind the NACA duct is significantly reduced when compared to a scooped duct that may protrude into the airflow. These ducts are a common sight on vehicles that require an intake of clean cool outside air and direct it as required.

 While this NACA Duct can be used with any aircraft, it is very beneficial on RC jets and specifically for EDF aircraft where airflow over the electronics is critical to extending their lifecycle and in many cases, critical for temperature management on each flight.  

For installation, use the perforated side of the duct to draw an outline of the area that needs to be cut out on the installation surface. After the correct area is cut, use adhesive or small fasteners for a secure installation.
