Running lights for Elco PT boats. Exterior surfaces are to Elco drawings. Lights are different port and starboard, be sure to install with the small protrusion on the bottom. Lenses on the real boats were red port and green starboard colored glass.
Preparation
The first step is to clean all parts thoroughly. Handle very carefully as the plastic is brittle. Please see the guide and links here: http://www.pt103.com/3D_Printed_PT_Boat_Parts.html. For best painting results be sure to follow cleaning with a UV cure from a lamp with the correct output, or the sun.
Location, Elco 80' Boats
Measurements are given in full scale and are taken from Elco drawings. See also the image above.
The forward edge of the light bases are 7" aft of the chart house side windows aft edge. Due to model variations, check that they appear correct in relation to the bridge and turret.
The horizontal center of the lights are 33" above the deck, measured from where the forward part of the turret meets the chart house. Due to model variations, check that they appear correct in relation to the top of the chart house.
