Mill Lane Sidings made a kit for a 10ft wheelbase shock-absorbing open wagon, and it is now sold by the N-gauge and 2mm Scale societies. Some of the real ones were fitted with single rail tarpaulin sheet supports like the non shock absorbing open wagons of similar design. Still others were modified with triple rail sheet supports and called Shockhood A, similar to the Shockhood B. This toolkit could come in handy making the rails and sheets if you fancy converting the kit to the Shockhood A variant. Don't confuse the A and B, and buy the wrong toolkit: They are only 4mm different in length for this scale so they look very similar. Note: I have seen a diagramme for a "HyHood" wagon which is a triple bar supported tarpaulin on a non shock absorbing open "high". This would be somewhere between the two in length, but I cannot find a photo of one or mention in learned wagon reference books, so I'm not sure if any were built. If you want one, please tell me and I'll happily make one and load it up for you. In fact whichever one you want, please let me know first and I will upload an improved former with stronger corners, as this is a weak point to twisting stresses on the shorter formers.
