This contraption allows you to make cold drip coffee without having expensive and clunky cold drip rig.
By using an Aeropress to hold the coffee grounds you get to experiment with the ratio of coffee to water to your own liking (60g coffee to 510ml for starters)
(Watch the video to see how it works)
You need - Silicone Tubing 4mmx6mm
- 2 mugs (one for cold water reservoir and one for collecting the sweet sweet coffee)
- Aeropress
- drinking straw (or my siphon helper)
How to use- Run Silicone tubing through contraption

- Grind coffee beans
- Fill up first mug with water
- Pour coffee grounds into aeropress (use paper filter for cean ground free coffee)
- Place aeropress on second mug
- Drop the end of the silicone tubing (the end without the contraption) into the first mug
- Ensure first mug is on a higher platform (a shelve or a box will do)
- Kickstart the siphone action by using a drinking straw (or use the siphone helper from my shapeways shop)
- Quickily place the contraption on the aeropress
- Adjust the drip rate by tightening/loosening the screw (i usually do 1.2 seconds per drip)
- Wait
- Once the first mug is empty, your coffee is ready.
- Place coffee in fridge
