Product Description
Original design of the Bismarck class space battleships from Space Battleship Yamato - The Bolar Wars (Yamato III) by Leiji Matsumoto.
The Bismarck class of space battleships were a couple of experimental warships of the EDF, in service by the year 2203, part of the rebuilding and expansion program of the Earth Defense Force after the devastating war against Gamilas first and Gatlantis later. The two ships of the class were built to quite a different design from that of the standard D class that formed the backbone of the EDF the previous year, having four triple turrets into collapsible covers that sit flush into the hull. Only the battleships Bismarck and Tirpitz were built to this design and, though effective, it was not considered as efficient as building the new, mass-produced standard battleships.
The Bismarck class ships were also equipped with a wave-motion gun and four forward-facing torpedo tubes, plus an additional six on the top of the hull, behind the superstructure, plus a number of point-defense lasers.
