Product Description
Constructed in 1913 by Pullman, the 124 boxcars of the D&SL 53000-Series featured steel frames and double-sheathed wooden boxes. Used to haul coal and other bulk commodities, these boxcars served the D&SL (and later D&RGW) well into the 1940s. This N-Scale model of a Denver & Salt Lake 53000-Series boxcar is fully assembled but requires weight, stirrups, a brake wheel, paint, decals and trucks to complete: standard Micro-Trains Bettendorf trucks are recommended. These cars have been tested to handle 9 3/4" minimum radius curves when equipped with the recommended trucks.
