Product Description
The exact origin of this design of baggage car is unknown, but it is likely it ran on the Boston & Worcestor Railroad during the late 1840s. It is scaled from an old engraving of a train, the locomotive at the head of the train is depicted as the "Neptune", built for the Boston & Worcestor RR in 1847 by Hinkley & Drury, and so presumably the baggage car was used on the same road and is contemporary with the loco. In any event, it is a fine depiction of a typical four wheeled car of the era.
This model is intended to take 36" (10.5mm) HO scale wheels on standard 26mm pinpoint axles, and Kadee (whisker spring) or EZ-Mate couplers may be fitted (may be mounted with 1.7M self tapping screws and appropriate washers. If printed in fine detail plastic, mounting holes must be reamed to prevent cracking).
